What activities should I record in my Activity Diary?
Your Activities Diary is your record of any physical activity that you do throughout your day. It doesn't have to be gym related.
Both the UK government’s chief medical officer and the US Department of Heath and Human Services recommend a minimum of half an hour of exercise five days of the week.
The great news is that you don't have to do the whole half hour in one go, you can split it into three ten minute bursts to make it more palatable.
As long as the exercise is of moderate intensity and brings color to your cheeks, makes you warm or perspire, you'll be keeping yourself on top form, reducing your risk of heart disease and obesity.
If you don't have access to a gym don't worry there are many other ways to burn calories; A brisk walk counts as exercise so don't forget to add it to your Activities Diary.
If the thought of exercising terrifies you, then attempt to add brisk walks to your day. Walk the last ten minutes of your journey to-and-from work and simply walk to get your lunch each day. You will soon feel the health benefits regular exercise brings.
